As the second largest agri-business market in Europe, France is a smart choice for Irish agri companies looking to expand overseas. And they’re more than welcome with French buyers, as a group of Irish businesses found recently when they visited France’s biggest agricultural show.
The Sommet de l’Élevage show, which took place in the French city of Clermont-Ferrand in October, is also the biggest livestock show in Europe. Over four days, it welcomed 115,000 visitors, including 5,000 international visitors from 90 countries.
Following in the footsteps of many Irish firms that have taken part in the show over decades, 11 Irish companies exhibited at this year’s show. They included Agrihealth, Alltech-Keenan, JFC, Major Equipment, Mayo Cow Mats, McHale, Prodig Attachments, Slanetrac, Tanco, Terra Nutritech and True North Technologies.
