Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Dr Amery Browne met with Ravi Dolsingh, Honorary Consul General of the Kingdom of Denmark to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday at the Ministry’s headquarters.
In a statement, the Ministry said discussions at the meeting focused on possible areas of cooperation between the Trinidad and Tobago and Denmark.
Minister Browne indicated that the time was right to maximise the potential for cooperation between the Trinidad and Tobago and the Denmark.
Delving into the prospective agenda for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, the Minister recommended the identification of a number of target areas that could be developed in the short term.
Talks during the meeting pivoted on potential exchanges in harnessing wind and solar power and the potential for income generation and promoting Trinidad and Tobago as a manufacturing centre for renewable energy components for Latin America and the Caribbean.
In addition to renewable technologies, Minister Browne recommended that discussions be opened on the integration between technology and agriculture given Denmark’s proficiency in the use of smart technologies in this area.
