Philadelphia Union announced today that Daniel Gazdag has received an international call-up for Hungary ahead of the upcoming FIFA international window. The midfielder is part of seven call-ups in March which include Damion Lowe (Jamaica), Jose Martinez (Venezuela), and Richard Odada (Kenya). These call ups come in addition to Brandan Craig, Jack McGlynn and Quinn Sullivan receiving call ups to the U-20 USMNT training camp in Marbella, Spain where they will face off against France, England and Serbia. Goalkeeper Andre Blake has been named to the Jamaican National Team, but will not travel due to injury. All Union players following the Union’s away match against CF Montreal.
Gazdag returns to the Hungarian National Team for the first round of the EURO 2024 Qualification Group Stage match. Gazdag has earned 18 caps, and most recently joined the squad in November of 2022 for two international friendlies. In his 18 appearances, Gazdag has scored four goals in World Cup qualifying matches against Andorra (Mar. 31, 2021), San Marino (Nov. 12, 2021), Poland (Nov. 15, 2021), and England (Jun. 14, 2022). Hungary will play a friendly against Estonia (Mar. 23, 2:30 p.m.) and a EURO 2024 Qualification Group Stage match against Bulgaria (Mar. 27, 2:45 p.m.).
